Fable Friends Easter Card and Egg Basket
I loved this stamp set from the start but I hadn’t yet used it. Then I found a card posted by a demonstrator in Germany and I knew I wanted to case her bunny and her beautiful colour combination. I just love how Nicole Kuenzig watercoloured the bunny like it’s straight from a Beatrix Potter storybook. And the flower crown…. swoon worthy!!
The egg basket is a style that I have made before, decorated the same as the card to make a lovely Easter gift and a great Easter class project. The feather was a bit of whimsy cut from a feather boa and I bought the Milk or Dark Chocolate eggs from Chocolate Boutique.
I used the Beauty Abounds stamps to create the background with Petal Pink and Melon Mambo inks both stamped off first. I used the lid of my Garden Green marker to flick some green splatter from the brush end of the marker onto the background. The greeting from Fable Friends is stamped in Memento Black ink.
The flower crown is made using a punch from the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack. Punch 1 each of Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo card. Rub each flower with a bone folder on a foam mat to soften the fibers then you can fold them into a cup shape or in half to get them all on. I used a die cut leaf from Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies for the greenery.
The bunny is stamped on Shimmer White Cardstock using Stazon Ink. Use Watercolour pencils to softly colour the bunny, I used Early Espresso, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo.
For the jacket I mixed Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo as I coloured and let the aqua painter blend them together. I left the buttons white until after the water was added and dried then I added Melon Mambo and did not wet it.
The basket is very easy to make and you can make different sizes just by starting with a larger square and dividing your score lines evenly into 3. Mine is 14.9cm x 14.9cm scored at 5cm and 10cm in both directions. I’m sure you have made these in the past as have I but I watched a video from Nadine Weiner as a refresher.
I tucked the feather behind the circle and lay along the handle and tied the feather to the basket using the Flirty Flamingo Ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack.
