Petal Promenade Keepsake Album
The Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper is pretty stunning! Beautiful floral images along with the gorgeous marbled back side make this paper irresistible. Fresh flowers were used to create this paper collection. See the process of creating the images of the blooms for the paper here.
My project today is CASEd from Kim McGillis she posted this album for a blog hop in September, see her post here. A friend of mine recently had a baby girl and I was trying to decide what to make for her when I saw Kim’s post. I thought her design would be perfect.
On a separate piece of Whisper White emboss the Ruffled Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF). I fussy cut the flowers from an edge piece of the Petal Promenade DSP and it’s adhered using dimensionals.
The belly band sits over the floral piece and holds the album together. It consists of a 1″ piece of Petal Pink long enough to wrap around the album. The layered part you see here is just in the center of the belly band. There’s no point having the Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems on the back where no-one sees them.
Mossy Meadow cardstock was embossed with the same Ruffled TIEF then cut along one of the ruffles to get the wavy look. Next is a strip of Whisper White with the Rhinestone Gems and then a piece of Petal Pink punched using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch.
I used a sheet of 12 x 12″ Whisper White cardstock and cut at 4″ wide then I scored at 3 15/16″ and 4 1/8″ (top/front) to create the pages. These form a cross shape to make the fold out pages of the album. An extra piece was added to the right hand side to make 4 sections.
Kim’s photos are so sweet showing one of her gorgeous daughters wearing a flower crown and playing with petals. I’m leaving it for my friend to add her own photos so my pages are blank. I cut the center out of one of the flower frames so my friend can add her daughter’s face, such a cute idea!
I joined the extra page on the top of the previous page and cut an extra border of flowers to hide the join. This way the join doesn’t show on the back when you close up the album.
I chose to decorate the center panel with the white side of a Coloured Doily, a Ruffle embossed piece of Petal Pink cardstock. A Whisper White Stitched Frame, the flower from the Botanial Bliss Stamp Set. The leaves are from Botanical Tags Thinlits Dies. Before I gift it I will add the name of my friend’s wee baby into this area using the letters from the Make a Difference Stamp Set. I tried not to make this area too thick as the pages all fold into here so didn’t use dimensionals.
The Whisper White 5/8” Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon is the perfect choice to finish off the belly band. The Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems are stunning here in a row on the front.
I think I’ve created the perfect gift. My friend can print out some photos and show them off in this pretty album and then have it as a keepsake. It’s another way to use this beautiful paper from the Memory Box I posted a few weeks ago, by using the different patterns you get quite a different look from the same pack of paper.
