Stitched Framelits Watercolour Butterfly Card

Stitched Framelits Watercolour Butterfly Card

This pretty stitched framelits watercolour butterfly card was inspired by one made by Susan Wong in the grey, white and copper colour pallete. I needed something pink and girly for a friend so I changed the colours and used a pink butterfly.

If you love to create and love the small added details that really finish off a project, the Stitched Framelits are the perfect solution. Not only do they cut the perfect shape every time, they also add the oh so cute stitched details, while you run it through the big shot.

The Stitched Framelits will work with the stamps that you already own, giving them a new lease on life and allowing you to create beautifully detailed cards in a flash.

I’ve always been a fan of stitching and it’s very trendy in the crafting industry right now.

Tips & Tricks

    • Card base is Whisper White Thick cardstock – 14.8 x 10.5cm
    • Card front is Whisper White cardstock – 14.2 x 9.9cm
    • I used an aqua painter and Blushing Bride Ink to create the watercolour background on Shimmer White Cardstock and on the 2 circles cut with the Stitched Framelits.
    • The stamp over the watercolouring on one of the circles is a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Blushing Bride Ink.
    • The doily is folded in half but left intact, I love this idea as it creates softness while adding texture as opposed to cutting the doily and only using half.
    • The Washi Tape above the doily is from the Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape. This tape with the copper dots is my firm favourite.
    • I coloured the butterfly by sponging Flirty Flamingo Ink onto Whisper White cardstock. The colour is more intense in the centre and faded it out from there. I placed the Butterfly Thinlit over the sponged card and cut it out using the big shot. I love the look and by sponging first you won’t tear the delicate die cut image.

Finishing Touches

    • Metallic Thread in Copper and Blushing Bride Sequin Trim behind the butterfly, 2 extra girly elements.

I love this card and my friend loved it to. To create your own handmade cards come along to one of my classes.
