TRI EASEL HALLOWEEN CARD

Halloween is not something I usually create for. However I do have customers and team members who do celebrate Halloween. So this card was for my October classes. Sadly though the classes cannot go ahead due to the pandemic. The card design is from Eveline van Heijst, I’ve added my own touches including the tri easel fold.

You’ll remember the recent post of the Fathers Day card using the same tri easel fold, check it out here.

TRI EASEL HALLOWEEN CARD INSTRUCTIONS

It is actually quite simple to create the tri easel fold and it has real wow factor. I work in metric therefore my 14.9cm card front was cut at 4.9 and 9.8. Then I used the score blade to score three diagonal lines on the resulting strips.

However, for this card I used basic white card cut to the same size as the 3 panels and embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder. Cut diagonally and placed individually onto each triangle after the diagonal line was scored on each one. The diagonal pieces were carefully placed and minor overhanging edges trimmed off.

The very bottom piece was black & white buffalo check DSP. I sponged white ink onto the DSP to bring the contrast down. There is a similar pattern that would work in the Peaceful Place DSP in the July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue. Or you could use a Halloween themed DSP here.

SEASONAL STAMPS

The Sparkle of the Season stamps and Seasonal Swirls Dies were perfect with the leafy wreath, pumpkins, bats, broomstick and sentiment. Very versatile, with imagery for Autumn, Halloween and Christmas all in the one set. I’m pleased to have invested in this bundle from the July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue.

FINISHING DETAILS

As with the tree on the previous card I die cut 2 wreaths and adhered them together for strength. Since only the bottom portion of the wreath is adhered to the card so it stands up.

An extra die cut wreath from Highland Heather cardstock had the leaves cut off so they could be attached to the black wreath. I loved this element of Eveline’s card.

Lastly the pumpkins on the wreath are die cut from Pumpkin Pie cardstock.

The pumpkins inside that act as the stoppers to hold the triangle easels up are die cut from Basic White. For placement I folded each easel piece and held it with one hand while I placed the stopper using dimensionals.

Here’s the link again to the Fathers Day card using DSP for the easel sections.

I haven’t seen this special fold card before Vanessa, love it and will have to try it for myself – you know how I love making things that are that bit different. It’s a lovely piece of ‘artwork’ from you again.

Thank you Heather, I was planning this as a class. I think we might have had a lockdown 🙁 I’ll put it on the list for the future 🙂
