DESK CALENDARS

I’ve created 2 mini desk calendars for recent events. Today I’m sharing images and the free tutorials with you.

The first desk calendar was for the Kraftible event in February. For events I design using a technique that might not have been seen or perhaps a refresher.

DESIGN DETAILS

The Boho Blue layer was embossed using the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder. Secondly I dragged the craft white ink pad over the high spots. As a result it softly highlights the embossed images.

The sweet bird was fussy cut from the Flight & Airy designer series paper, a Sale-a-bration gift this year. However, a spray of flowers, die-cut flowers or similar would also work. The bird is mounted on a punched shape from the Hexagon punch with a stamped border from Hearftfelt Hexagons stamp set.

The second desk calendar was for a team building event I was asked to run for the team at a local charity.

Consequently the design was a theme they specified, and needed to be easy for people who have never crafted before. As a result, I switched the orientation of the project to portrait.

DESIGN DETAILS

I used Beauty of the Earth designer series paper (retired) is the first layer. The tree is from Beauty of Friendship stamp set (retired). Stamped, starting with the leaf canopy at the top of the Basic White piece in Old Olive ink.

The detailed leaf canopy stamp was stamped over the top of the Old Olive one using Mossy Meadow ink. Lastly the trunk and branches stamp was added using Pecan Pie ink.

To add contrast I added Balmy Blue ink to the background with a blending brush.

For the sentiments, either the one pictured or ‘Every Day is a Fresh Start’ from Garden Meadow stamp set using Mossy Meadow ink.

There were 14 people in the team, so I started the event with a demonstration of the project.

I hope you enjoyed my share today of these 2 projects and you’re inspired to make something similar for your desk.

The supplies I used aren’t all available now, however the ideas live on. I’d love to see how you use these ideas to create your own desk calendars.
