I’m exploring the Beautiful Butterflies bundle again. This week, I’m creating soft Vintage Beautiful Butterflies cards with elegant details.
What is Soft Vintage?
Soft vintage feels cleaner than traditional vintage. I use white space, keep edges crisp, and incorporate more colour. The messy bow, tied in the center with gold thread, adds a vintage touch while keeping it soft and refined.
Soft Vintage Beautiful Butterflies Shaped Card
I promised to showcase the detailed wing stamps. The best way? A butterfly-shaped card! This die set makes it easy to create a free-standing butterfly card. How fabulous is that?
I stamped the detailed wing images using Pretty in Pink ink. First, I stamped off on scrap paper, then onto the project. This technique creates a lighter ink effect, perfect for a soft vintage background.
I used the same stamping technique for the shaped and standard butterfly cards.
How to Tie a Messy Bow
I love this style! It looks like it’s about to unravel, adding to the vintage aesthetic. Vintage designs embrace an aged, well-loved appearance.
To create the bow:
Cut ribbon lengthwise down the middle.
Hold both pieces together and shape the bow.
Tie the center with gold thread.
Secure the knot, then pull at the threads to fray both the loops and tails.
Fray the gold thread for an extra distressed look.
