It’s time for another fun fold! Today I’m sharing a Beautiful Ordinary Life twisted easel card featuring the gorgeous Beautiful Ordinary Life Suite from Stampin’ Up! I’ve been loving the modern colour palette and coordinating patterns in the Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper. This twisted easel design is perfect for showcasing those beautiful papers.
This design was inspired by Stacey Marsh for the fold and Tammy Wilson for the decorative elements. I always enjoy taking inspiration from other talented creators before adding my own creative twist to make the project unique.

The Supplies I Chose
I added texture with the Lazy Daisy 3D Embossing Folder. The Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper offers the best of both worlds, with soft, colourful designs on one side and striking black-and-white patterns on the reverse. This combination makes it incredibly versatile and ideal for fun fold cards.
I cut the focal circles with the Spotlight on Nature Dies, which feature beautiful detailing around the edges. Next I stamped the butterflies and flowers from the Extraordinary Life Bundle onto Basic White Thick Cardstock with VersaMark ink before heat embossing them with Black Embossing Powder.
Then I coloured the images with a Water Painter using Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party and Coastal Cabana inks. The soft blending lets the embossed outlines remain the star of the design.
Adding Colour, Texture and Dimension
For the leaves, I followed Tammy Wilson’s technique and blended Coastal Cabana ink onto Basic White Thick Cardstock with a blending brush before cutting the leaves with the Delicate Whispers Dies. I love the subtle colour variation and added texture this technique creates compared with using coloured cardstock.
This time, I chose a sentiment from the Delicate Whispers Stamp Set and heat embossed it in white onto Basic Black Cardstock. TThe bold contrast helps the greeting stand out against the softer colours.
A Practical Twist on the Twisted Easel Card Design
One of my favourite features of this card is the inside. Instead of writing the message directly on the display panel, I turned the inner section into a traditional opening card. This design lets you display the twisted easel card while keeping your handwritten message tucked safely inside. I think this practical feature makes the card even more special.

In this week’s video, you’ll see my creative process unfold in real time. I began with several pre-cut layers and a rough design in mind, but as I assembled the card, new ideas emerged and the project evolved naturally. Unfortunately, my internet connection dropped right at the end of the recording, so I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye. Thankfully, the card was finished before the connection disappeared!
