Hidden Gate Fold Card

I’m so excited to share this week’s card: a hidden gate fold card using the gorgeous Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper.

If you’ve ever hesitated before cutting into your DSP because you love both sides (been there!), this fold is your new best friend. You get to show off the patterns inside and out—and the whole design uses just half a sheet of 12”x12” paper.

I cased the front of this card straight from page 41 of the catalogue, and it was love at first fold. It showcases the floral beauty of the paper while hiding the gate fold until you open it—like a little surprise inside every card.

Handmade card in dark purple with floral paper and have a lovely day on the front. Inside is a double gate fold with the same floral paper from Stampin' Up!

Florals in Bloom Suite Products

I used both the Pretty Florals Bundle and the Sweet Blooms Bundle for this design. The Pretty Florals Bundle has a mix of flower and foliage stamps with coordinating dies (and bonus: some of those dies match the DSP too). Sweet Blooms is where the gorgeous word dies like “lovely” and “bloom” come in, and the sentiments are perfect for encouragement, friendship, or just sending a little happy.

You can purchase them together with the Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper and 2025-2027 In-Colour Flat Pearls with one code, the Florals in Bloom Suite.

Hidden Gate Fold Card Tips:

  • Use a bone folder to get crisp, clean creases that help the fold stay shut

  • Choose inks and cardstocks that match the tones in your Florals in Bloom DSP for a polished finish

  • Be sure to place any inside embellishments strategically—so they don’t interfere with the fold

  • Fold the card closed carefully after adhering everything, so the gates align and lay flat

I’m so thrilled with how this card turned out—and I’d love for you to make one too!

What designer series paper will you use to try this hidden gate fold card? Tag me when you make it—I can’t wait to see your version!
