I love how this card came together, I did a little happy dance when I finished it. This product suite is getting a fair bit of attention in my craft room, it’s so easy to create with.
BLOOM WHERE YOU’RE PLANTED SUITE
This is my most used suite from the new catalogue so far. I am not good at looking after real plants but love creating cards with these stamped plants.
I found this card in a video created by Kerry Timms and loved it and thought it would be fun for my class.
As I set about creating the card and decided I wanted only 1 shaped layer on the front. So I chose a large shape from the Tasteful Labels dies and cut it from Soft Succulent cardstock.
I loved her layout of the stamped pot plant but decided to add a small die cut plant to the front as well.
PLENTIFUL PLANTS DETAILS
The plentiful plants pot was stamped in Gray Granite, the trailing plant in Soft Succulent and the larger leaves in Evening Evergreen. Consequently I used Evening Evergreen for the sentiment.
The sentiment is stamped on a tag from Tailor Made Tags dies. I’m using these dies a lot in my projects too, they have the cute stitched element and with 4 sizes in each design it’s easy to find one to fit. Plus they have the reinforcing piece that you can coordinate with the project therefore adding another level of detail.
Kerry used a die cut shape in the center of the inner to hold the easel open. However I thought a plant would look cute so I added the die cut plant at the bottom instead.
The inside features a layer of Gray Granite underneath the white to balance the card and the cute little plant to hold the easel open. I’ve put a small dimensional under the left side of the plant and a dot of liquid glue under the right hand side, this way it acts like a door stop.
I hope you liked my take on Kerry’s card, I’d love to hear from you if you wish to leave a comment.
Have a wonderful and creative day!
