Friendly Foliage with Lasting Linen and Brushed Beauty Layers

This week, I’m sharing a layered card featuring Friendly Foliage, Lasting Linen, and Brushed Beauty Designer Series Paper (DSP). I love the texture and dimension that layering adds to this card design.

Handmade Thinking of You card using Friendly Foliage and Lasting Linen stamp sets. Also featuring Brushed with Beauty designer series paper in Darlking Duckling. This coordinates with the card base of Secret Sea.

Layering for Texture and Interest – Embossing and Brushed with Beauty DSP

Layering is one of my favourite ways to create with paper. For this card, I started with a Secret Sea card base and layered Crumb Cake on top. Then I added a Basic White layer embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder. This gives a texture you can feel.

Next, I added a layer from the Brushed with Beauty Designer Series Paper. I chose the Darling Duckling pattern for its soft, delicate design. It provides a lovely contrast to Secret Sea.

Handmade card in Blue, Yellow white and natural. Features leaves in a cut away frame and the sentiment Thinking of You.

Soft Lasting Linen Background

The Lasting Linen background stamp adds a subtle pattern. This creates a soft, textured impression – texture you can see. It’s a simple way to make your card more interesting without overwhelming it.

Friendly Foliage Focal Point

For the focal point, I stamped the Friendly Foliage main image in Secret Sea ink. I then die-cut it with the peek-through frame die. This allows the linen texture to show through, adding depth and layered interest.

Friendly Foliage Inside the Card

Inside the card, I used another Friendly Foliage stamp to create a cute coordinating border in Crumb Cake ink. This ties the inside of the card to the front, keeping the design cohesive and polished.
