NEW HORIZONS HOME DECOR

Today I’m sharing my version of the framed New Horizons DSP from page 42 of the mini catalogue.

The image inspired me to buy the suite so I could make this framed piece for my craft room.

New Horizons

PRE-PRINTED ART

The New Horizons 6 x 6″ Designer Series Paper contains the stunning background piece already printed. It makes creating your own artwork so easy.

I cut the fence from Basic White cardstock and attached it using liquid glue. The birds were stamped in Evening Evergreen.

There’s a stamp in the On The Horizon stamp set for the words so I embossed in white on Evening Evergreen for the word relax. Then I stamped again using Evening Evergreen ink on Basic White. Then I cut out the words using my paper snips.

CHANGING A DIE CUT SIZE

I wanted to mount the words on a driftwood looking background, so I chose a piece of In Good Taste designer series paper. However when I cut the shape using the Horizon Dies it was too large for the words.

So I took the die cut and the same die and ran it through the die cutting and embossing machine again to remove a section from 1 end. Therefore creating the perfect size.

I made a nest of Linen Thread under the die cut shape and adhered it using dimensionals. A mix of the Pebbles Enamel Shapes were added to the foreground of the fence.

Lastly I mounted the picture on dimensionals to a piece of Basic White to fit an 8″ x 8″ frame.

OTHER PROJECTS

I’ve used the New Horizons Suite for my first March class, casing the card directly below the framed piece on page 42 of the mini catalogue.
