The new Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder has quickly become my go-to for creating hours of fun adding colour and texture to my cards. This easy technique—what I like to call Sunflower Embossing Ink Magic—takes your projects from pretty to WOW in minutes.

Simply emboss your paper using the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder, grab an ink pad, and let the magic begin. I literally couldn’t stop experimenting with different papers and ink colours once I got started.
My first inclination was to try White Craft Ink, I love how the white ink made the black cardstock almost turn into Secret Sea.

First, I played with designer series papers in a variety of colours, adding ink shades that enhanced the tones in the paper. I used 6″ x 6″ DSP—cut a card front from each piece and then used the leftover strip on a second card. Two cards from one sheet? Yes, please!

Then I switched it up and used two-tone cardstock for a softer, tonal look and a sanded version for a more vintage vibe.

This embossing folder is just amazing—the depth and detail do all the hard work for you. To finish my designs, I kept embellishments simple: a little extra DSP, a small sentiment, and a touch of ribbon or thread. Keeping it minimal lets the inked, embossed sunflower image shine.
And here’s the best part—there’s so much room for personalisation and experimentation. Try:
Different DSP and ink combinations
White craft ink for a soft, chalky look
Heat embossing powders for extra shine
Sanding two-tone paper for a rustic feel
The Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder delivers instant depth and interest without the need for extra dies or layers. Paired with patterned paper and simple sentiments, you can create a dozen unique backgrounds in just one crafting session.
