I’m very excited to share this Double Vision Lakeside Retreat card with you. This design is inspired by a beautiful card created by Zoe Tant in the UK. The double vision technique is popping up everywhere right now, and I couldn’t wait to try it myself.
My first thought? This technique would pair perfectly with the Lakeside Retreat Paper Pumpkin kit—and I was right!

A Fresh Take on the Lakeside Retreat Kit
I’ve really enjoyed creating the Lakeside Retreat Paper Pumpkin Kit cards as designed. However, I’ve been itching to try an alternative project. With Zoe’s inspiration in mind, I happily took on the challenge.
The result is a card that feels fresh, creative, and just a little bit different.

Creating the Double Vision Effect
To begin, I chose the wharf scene for my focal point. I loved the detail in the timber and knew it would work beautifully for the double vision effect.
Next, I selected Pool Party cardstock for the card base. I folded the cardstock and positioned the 5th largest Party Banner Die slightly above the fold line. This creates a shaped card base—such a fun detail!
Then, I used the warm timber design paper to cut the next layer. I chose the next smallest Party Banner Die to create a neat, layered look.
For the feature panel, I carefully selected a section of the wharf scene. I die cut this using the 8th largest Party Banner Die. I also cut a coordinating piece in basic white as a base for the strips.
Why I Love the Double Vision Lakeside Retreat Card
I am absolutely overjoyed with how this Double Vision Lakeside Retreat card turned out. The technique is surprisingly simple, yet it creates such an eye-catching focal point.
Even better, it adds depth and interest without needing lots of extra supplies.
If you’re looking for a way to step up your cardmaking, this technique is definitely worth trying. It delivers a real wow factor every time.
