Last month I held a Christmas in July class. We were having a real cold snap and I wanted to serve hot chocolate and make a start on seasonal projects.
My Festive Foliage embossed card was a quick project to balance out another one that would take longer.
It’s so easy to create quick cards when you use a background stamp. Festive Foliage is a new background stamp in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue.
Festive Foliage Embossed in Gold
As soon as I received this stamp I had a card idea pop into my head. The stamped image gold embossed on Evening Evergreen card. Such a luxuriously simple design yet so stylish and elegant.
I created my layers using Evening Evergreen for the base with a layer of Very Vanilla followed by the focal layer of Evening Evergreen.
The sentiment is also embossed in gold on Very Vanilla and die cut using a Stitched Rectangle die. The anchoring addition of a strip of gold is from the Gold & Rose Gold 6×6” Metallic Specialty Paper on page 135 of the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue.
I love the shine from the gold as I hold this card in the light.
I’m keen to explore this stamp in other ways like colouring and layering with die cut leaves underneath the sentiment. However if you want a simple card design for making multiples for your Christmas cards this season you’ve found it.
We have another Christmas card idea for you at the Kraftible event in September also using Evening Evergreen.
