HONEYBEE HOME HONEYCOMB CARD

Welcome back, today I have a pretty card using the Honeybee Home stamp set and Honeybee Blooms Dies. The card was cased from Ellen Woodbridge, I love her inspired use of embossed and coloured vellum to make the honeycomb.

CARD DETAILS

I chose to use Texture Chic designer series paper for my version, I love this paper and it suits the card design perfectly.

Consequently my honeycomb is coloured in Pale Papaya instead of the Bumblebee that Ellen used.

To replicate this effect simply emboss the vellum with the Hive 3D embossing folder and colour using a blending brush and ink. Then I ripped the vellum to create 2 randomly edged pieces for the card.

The sentiment has been stamped on the Kraft 6″x 6″ paper in Soft Suede ink and mounted on dimensionals.

ADDING COLOUR

The bunches of flowers were stamped in Memento Black ink and coloured using blends. I used Pumpkin Pie and Calypso Coral in both light and dark shades.

The bee was coloured using Soft Saffron and Wink of Stella on the wings. A small bee embellishment (retired ) was used as a pop of gold to finish.

HONEYBEE HOME BUNDLE

This is a favourite bundle of mine, I love wildflowers and bees. For example, I have a post below where I used the same set, click the image below to view the post.

I hope you’re inspired to create your own projects with the Honeybee Home Bundle. Alternatively, you can join a class, there are currently 2 dates per month and we’re moving between Botany, Titirangi and Kohimarama until I’m ready to have classes in Aka Aka. Visit the classes page for more information.
