April class – Rainbow of Happiness card using 2 ideas from Instagram. I found 2 cards that I liked and combined elements from each to make my own version for this class project.
I especially loved creating the background using one of the rainbow stamps from the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set. Therefore every person’s card was slightly different, adding to the handmade satisfaction. This idea came from Selina Merali – Sleepy Owl Co.
It was fun to use the White Frayed Ribbon in the centre of the card with the rainbow over the top. This idea and rainbow and cloud layout was from Susan Wong – The Crafty Carrot Co.
YOU CAN MAKE IT
Cut a layer 5mm or 2/8″ less than your card base in Crumb Cake. Stamp the dashed line rainbow in Crumb Cake ink randomly.
Stamp the rainbow on a piece of Basic White using Blushing Bride for the largest stamp, then Crumb Cake and Petal Pink with the dashed line rainbow in Crumb Cake over the Petal Pink one. Cut out by hand using your snips.
Stamp the sentiment on a piece of Basic White and die cut or punch a circle. Die cut 4 clouds from the Brilliant Rainbow dies.
I used Tear and Tape to adhere the ribbon to the center of the card. Then I added the rainbow and clouds using dimensionals and Tombo.
Seperate the threads of some twine to create the nest under the circle and adhere the circle over the end of the rainbow.
Finally add some adhesive dots and adhere the layer to the card base.
I used the same background stamp on the inside with the teeny tiny hearts stamped in Blushing Bride, a rainbow of happiness and love.
