In this week’s project, I’ve created a multi-layered card design that combines stamping, stencilling, and images die cut from washi tape. This stencilled and Greenery Lane Washi Tape style of card is one of my absolute favourites—there are so many beautiful options for layering and building a design that feels soft, detailed, and pretty.
If you love cards with depth and subtle texture, this technique is a wonderful one to try.

Foundation Layers Using Designer Series Paper and Embossing
To begin my stencil Greenery Lane Washi card, I created the foundation layers using a piece of Lovely Blossoms Designer Series Paper. I paired this with the Gathering Leaves Embossing Folder (last chance), which adds gentle texture without overwhelming the design.
These layers set the tone for the rest of the card and give a lovely balance between pattern and texture.
Creating a Reusable Stencil for Soft Floral Texture
The next layer is where the stencilling comes in. I created my own stencil using the small flowers die from Lovely Arrangements. To do this, I die cut the flower shapes from Window Sheet.
I placed the Window Sheet stencil over Basic White Cardstock and sponged through it using Crumb Cake ink and a blending brush. Using Window Sheet means the stencil is reusable, and because it’s transparent, I can see exactly where the flowers will land every time. I also repeated this stencilling technique in the background of the sentiment for a cohesive look.
This soft floral texture really enhances the card design.

Two-Step Stamping with Greenery Lane Leaves
Next, I stamped the Greenery Lane leaves. This is a two-step stamping set, which gives beautiful dimension.
The outline was stamped in Crumb Cake
The solid image was stamped in Lost Lagoon, stamped off first for a lighter effect
I love that the second stamp doesn’t completley fill the outline, allowing small areas of white to show through. This adds softness and visual interest.
Die Cutting Images from Greenery Lane Washi Tape
Now for one of my favourite parts of this project—working with the Greenery Lane Washi Tape.
Here’s how I attached a section of the washi tape to a piece of Basic White Cardstock. I cut the cardstock to the same width as the washi tape, lined it up along one edge, and carefully rolled the tape across the cardstock. Using a bone folder or an old gift card helps smooth the tape as you go and prevents bubbles.
You can also apply washi tape to coloured cardstock or vellum for a more translucent look—another great option for your stencilled Greenery Lane Washi Tape projects.
The images on the washi tape coordinate perfectly with the Greenery Lane Dies, making it quick and easy to die cut the leaves.
I placed the die-cut washi leaves next to the stamped leaves, and added extra detail by including:
Leaves die cut from Crumb Cake Cardstock
Crumb Cake stamped outline leaves
This mix of materials adds depth and keeps the design visually interesting without feeling busy.

Stencil and Greenery Lane Washi Tape Inside Details
On the inside of the card, I replicated the main design elements to tie everything together. I repeated the leaf outline and fill stamping, along with the stencilled small flowers.
This simple repetition makes the card feel finished and thoughtfully designed from front to inside—always a nice touch for a handmade card.
Measurements to Try It Yourself
As with my previous projects, I’ve included measurements so you can recreate this card yourself.
