I love how this simple fold has so much space to show off the beautiful papers from Stampin’ Up!
Incidentally the designer series paper sale is on until the 31st August with 15% off selected DSP. Don’t forget to redeem any bonus Days coupons that you earned during July.
I fell in love with this Country Woods paper as soon as I saw it in the annual catalogue, woodgrain papers are super easy to use. I also love the fun element of the colours in the striped one. Plus, the colour combination of Petal Pink, Pool Party, Misty Moonlight, Pecan Pie, Basic Beige and Smoky Slate, love, love, love!

THE FINISHED STANDING EASEL FUN FOLD CARD
I made a similar design for a recent kraftible event and decided to case myself and Rochelle Blok. Rochelle used the floral stamp as her focal point, and I loved the idea of using the flowers on their own without the milk can or teapot from the set.
I have used two different patterns from the Country Woods designer series paper and the Eyelet 3D embossing Folder from the Country Woods Suite of co-ordinating products. Tearing the blue, peeling paint piece of DSP allows the eyelet embossed layer to peek out. Creating layers with different textures is one way of adding interest and sophistication to cards.
A CLOSE UP OF THE COUNTRY FLOWERS COLOURING
The colouring was achieved by using Stampin’ Blends. Beginning with the light colour in the combo I lay down the first layer. Then I add the dark colour in the areas where there would be a shadow. Finally I blend the line between the dark and light with the light colour, in this step I don’t colour over the whole petal or leaf again, it’s in thirds, therefore giving 3 variations of the colour. You can also use the colour lifter to lighten the tips of leaves and flowers.
Also visible in this photo is the Basic White circle die cut from another of my favourite products available in my Stampin’ Up! store, the fabulous Spotlight On Nature Dies. If you don’t have them – you need them! They die cut a range of circles in different sizes that have beautiful detailing around the die perimeter.
STANDING EASEL FUN FOLD CARD ON DISPLAY
The front edge of the card tucks under the raised stopper so the centre of the card is raised for all to enjoy.
WHITE EMBOSSED SENTIMENT
Heat embossing is one of my favourite techniques, and I love to use it for sentiments. The subtle shine with the slightly raised feel is stunning. I’ve white embossed my sentiment here on Petal Pink card stock.
