WEDDING RING BOX AND CARDS

Crafting_with_Confetti_Cards_Ring_Box_1

In November we made a box and decoration as an ‘other than a card’ class and gift. My friend Shelley loved the box and said it would be perfect as a ring box for her wedding. She had been looking and couldn’t find anything she liked. Therefore I made her this box.

OUTER BOX

The box was easy, I used the design and instructions from Karin de Laat. I made it in Petal Pink cardstock to coordinate with the colours of the wedding.

To decorate the top of the box I used the Stitched Be Mine dies and the coordinating Meant to Be stamp set. The stitched circle was cut from Peony Garden designer series paper and popped on dimensionals. I kept the top fairly flat as I thought it would get a bit of handling.

The words Meant to Be were stamped in Versamark, then I added Heat & Stick powder and heated until it became sticky. Next I added the Gilded Leaf Embellishment, it was the first time I’d used it on words and it worked perfectly!

I created the same insert as Karin but in Basic White and I cut slits to hold the rings. This was a bit hard to guess so I hope I got the size right.

LOVE NOTES

I made 2 personal fold out cards so they can write love messages to each other. These cards fit underneath the Whisper White ring insert so can be kept hidden. However they are retrieved easily by gently pulling on the piece of delicate Petal Pink Organdy ribbon. Each card has a belly band to keep it together. The idea for the card shape came from Karolina Riedelsdorf, it was the fold that inspired my design.

SWEET DETAILS

Each card has a cute envelope made using the Snail Dies and stamped images from Meant to Be and Heartfelt stamp sets. There is gilded leafing on the outside of the heart shape and in strips underneath the layered hearts. I kept this one minimal and used Basic Grey thus giving a more masculine look for the groom.

Lastly for the bride I used more layers and an intricate heart gilded in gold leaf on vellum and a Petal Pink water coloured and stamped background on the solid heart.

I also used the Stitched With Whimsy square die on the bride’s card, both around the envelope and on the front panel, I love the delicate stitching of this die.

With plenty of space to write and then the way they fold in and up with the belly band to hold them I think these are the perfect base for love notes for a couple on their wedding day.

I wish them every happiness.
