WHIMSICAL CHRISTMAS GIFT CARD HOLDER

Here’s my lovely, whimsical Christmas gift card holder with tuck card for your message. Designed by Stampin’ Up! Artisan Zsuzsánna Balázs  for a recent showcase of the Peaceful Deer bundle. I’ve used the Whimsy & Wonder suite to show that it’s easy to take an idea and create your version using different products.

The Whimsy & Wonder Suite is one of my favourites in the July – December Mini Catalogue. I love the non-traditional colours for Christmas and the whimsical feel of the images and dies in the suite.

WHIMSY & WONDER DSP

For this project I decided to use the more subtle prints from the pack of designer series paper. I’m using the polished pink and blushing bride in an upcoming project. Therefore I choose to concentrate on the pretty greens this time, resulting in a calm aesthetic.

If you follow the link to Zsuzsánna’s post you will find her cutting layout for the whimsical Christmas gift card holder.

FINISHING TOUCHES

I enjoy creating scenes with complimentary elements and Stampin’ Up!’s suites are perfect for my avid crafting style. Here I’ve used the DSP, stamp set, dies and wonderful snowflakes all from the suite.

To add some sparkle I’ve used the Simply Elegant Trim in silver from the 2021-2022 annual catalogue page 140. I cut the length I wanted and then split the threads so I have a thinner more whimsical piece that I’ve twisted through a glue dot underneath the trees.

GIFT CARDS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

Don’t limit this lovely project to just Christmas gifting, you can use this throughout the year. It would be fun to make a few up and have them ready. You never know when you’ll need one and I’m sure you agree it’s so much nicer than the options available in stores.

Maybe I should add these to my card shop, what do you think?

I went ahead and added this one to my shop, if it proves popular I’ll add more.

Thank you Ali for your lovely words. I’m so pleased that you like my creation. I also feel the wrapping is as important as the gift.
