Today, I’m sharing 3 creative ways to use the Beautiful Motifs Dies in your handmade cards. Everything on pages 52–57 of the Annual Catalogue speaks to me. I’m absolutely in love with the Beautiful Gallery Suite!
This suite includes something exciting—partial pop-up dies. These look like regular dies, but they only cut parts of your cardstock. This technique adds amazing texture and dimension.

FRAME IT
First, I die cut two frames from the Beautiful Gallery 6”x6” Designer Series Paper. These frames are perfect focal points. However, they also work beautifully as part of a layered background.
For the centrepiece, I used stamps from Beautiful Motifs and Elements of Text. I added marker splatter to create a vintage vibe.
Next, I used a partial pop-up die from the Beautiful Motifs Dies set. After die cutting, I gently sponged the design with Lost Lagoon ink. This simple step makes the die-cut stand out perfectly and adds to the vintage feel.

COLOURING TECHNIQUE
To finish off the stamped flower, I used Wink of Stella to soften and pull the stamped ink upwards on the flower petals. This adds both colour and a gorgeous shimmer. A blender pen works too, but the sparkle from Wink of Stella is extra special.

LEAVES BREAKING THE FRAME
For my second card, I started with a larger Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper frame. I placed it over a solid background, then added the Beautiful Motifs Die beneath it.
Framing it was a bit tricky, but the result is worth it. I love how the leaves break the frame edge. It gives the design natural flow and depth.
LEAVES AS A DIE CUT
You also have the option to finish cutting the image with your paper snips. Just snip the parts where the die didn’t cut through and use the piece as you wish.

SURPRISE ON THE INSIDE
My final idea uses the Beautiful Motifs Dies inside the card. I die cut the corner-shaped pop-up motif and sponged over it with Lost Lagoon ink.
With Secret Sea cardstock behind the die cut, the design really pops. It’s a lovely surprise when the card is opened!
