This week, I’m sharing the emboss resist technique using the Beautiful Gallery Suite and Elements of Text stamps.
I heat embossed first, then added colour with blending brushes.
The Beautiful Motifs frame die cuts two at once. It includes intricate detail dies and coordinating outlines. I used extra die cuts to build my layered design —most of the card uses leftover pieces from my craft desk.

What is the Emboss Resist Technique?
Start by stamping an image with Versamark ink and heat emboss with white powder. Once set, add colour using one of three methods:
Watercolour wash on watercolour paper
Ink with s blending brush
Drag the ink pad directly over the paper
The embossed design resists the ink and stays white, revealing a beautiful, custom background.

Card Details
I stamped flowers on Basic Beige cardstock to match the card’s soft colour palette. I added shimmer and colour to the petals with Wink of Stella. Then, I die cut the image and separated the flowers for layering.
I arranged them inside and over the frame die cut from Beautiful Gallery designer paper.
A frayed bow made from Basic Beige Classic Ribbon adds texture.
Finally, the sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink on Cloud Cover cardstock.

Inside Decoration
Inside the card, I added a detached leaf die cut for a subtle surprise.
