This week I’m sharing my Gallery Blooms Gate Fold Card, and let me just say—I love a good wreath. I couldn’t resist casing the one featured on page 53 of the Stampin’ Up! catalogue. The moment I saw it, I knew it belonged on the front of a gate fold card!
Wild Roses Stamp
The wild roses image from the Gallery Blooms Stamp Set is perfect for wreath-making thanks to its slight curve. I kept the petals soft and white, colouring just the centers with Pecan Pie and the leaves with Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends. To bring in more dimension, I used the coordinating Gallery Blooms dies to cut additional leaves in Mossy Meadow and Cloud Cover cardstock. This gave the wreath a lush, layered look without being overwhelming.
Gate Fold Design
Speaking of the fold—this gate fold card is so much simpler to make than it looks. I adjusted the front panel just slightly smaller than the center folds to allow room for the wreath to shine. I also added a punched tab for easy opening and positioned all the extra leaves carefully so the card still fits a standard envelope.
The gold embossed sentiment on Cloud Cover cardstock adds a touch of elegance that makes this design perfect for a wedding, engagement, or anniversary card. It has that “handmade with heart” look—but also that “this came from a boutique” feel.
Gallery Blooms Gate Fold Card Tips:
Use a bone folder to crease your gate folds cleanly—this helps the card stay closed nicely.
Pop up the wreath with dimensionals for a little shadow and depth.
Match your ink and paper tones from the Beautiful Gallery Suite for a cohesive, elegant finish.
