If you love soft colours, gentle textures, and a touch of shimmer, you’ll enjoy this Prairie Grass Blended Background card. It’s calm, elegant, and surprisingly easy to make.

Creating the Blended Background
First, I used blending brushes to create a smooth blended background. I started with darker ink at the bottom and worked upward to a lighter shade. This simple ombré look adds beautiful depth and movement.
Next, I flicked water droplets over the inked surface. The water lifts small spots of colour and creates soft, organic texture. Then, I flicked Wink of Stella for a little sparkle. It’s subtle but adds a magical touch when the light hits.

Stamping the Prairie Grass
After the background was complete, I stamped the largest grass image in Secret Sea ink. The moody blue-black tone contrasts perfectly with the blended background. It gives the card a peaceful, natural feel — almost like a quiet field in the morning light..
Adding Texture and Shine
To build more texture, I tore the edges of the layers. Torn edges are simple to create, yet they add instant visual interest. They also help soften the design and draw the eye inward.
For the sentiment, I chose one from the same stamp set and heat embossed it in gold. The shine brings elegance and warmth to the soft, blended tones. Finally, I added three low-profile gold dots for balance and a gentle pop of shine.
