SUCCULENTS WITH SOMETHING FANCY

Welcome, I’m sharing a Simply Succulents card today and I love how this turned out. However, sometimes we see a design we like but don’t have the same tools to create it.

I liked the sample on page 14 of the Jan – June 2023 Mini Catalogue. However, I don’t have any of the Two-Tone Flora products, so I found a similar die and made my card using Simply Succulents stamps and Potted Succulents dies. Then I added the Something Fancy sentiment and dies like the sample.

DESIGN DETAILS

Starting with a Basic White Thick card base, I used Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen Inks with a blending brush to create the background. I blended and added colour until I was happy with the depth achieved.

Next, I adhered the diecut from the Potted Succulents dies. This was the same size as the card front.

The succulents around the sentiment were made using the emboss resist technique. Lastly the sentiment from Something Fancy was stamped using Evening Evergreen ink and die cut with a coordinating die from the set. Equally there are sentiments and dies with the stamp set that I could have used.

SIMPLY SUCCULTENTS STAMPS & POTTED SUCCULENTS DIES

One of my favourite colours is green, so stamps of plants appeal to me. Sadly, this stamp set and dies are retiring on 1 May. Until then and while stocks last, they are both currently 60% off! If you’re quick you can grab them in my online store.

Likewise, the gorgeous Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen In-Colours are retiring, also on sale while stocks last. I will miss these beautiful, complementary shades of green.

INSIDE DECORATION

As a card maker I love to decorate the inside of the card to match. Here I’ve used a portion of the large succulent stamp on the bottom right corner in Soft Succulent ink.
