This week I’m sharing two alternative designs using the May 2026 Sparkling Celebrations Paper Pumpkin kit. This fun kit includes enough supplies to create nine fantastic cards, with three each of three different designs.

In my video below, I show you how to interpret the instruction sheet while creating one card exactly as designed. Then, I share two creative alternative ideas using the kit components in different ways. These projects are a great way to stretch your supplies and add your own personal style.

This is the card created as per the May 2026 Sparkling Celebrations kit instructions. I love the effect of looking through the window at the lanterns floating past. In the video, I also share my tips for handling the window piece carefully to help prevent the thinner paper from bending.
May 2026 Sparkling Celebrations Festoon Lights Shutter Card
For the first alternative, I created a festive shutter-style card using the scenic card front from the kit. To achieve this effect, I cut the card front into evenly spaced sections. Next, I mounted the pieces onto a layer of Blackberry Bliss cardstock with equal gaps between each strip.
This technique keeps the original scene visible while adding extra detail and dimension. I love how the spacing creates more visual interest without losing the beautiful festive design.

May 2026 Sparkling Celebrations New Year Fireworks Card
My second alternative card features a bold New Year celebration theme. For this design, I cut one of the card bases from the kit in half and then trimmed it to create a layer.
Next, I added the colourful pre-printed fireworks die cut from the kit. To finish the design, I cut the sentiment from Silver Foil using the Words For The Season Dies. The silver greeting adds extra shine and coordinates perfectly with the celebratory theme.
